29. Lego day! Put all the sets together!



Well, we got one of our 100 things done today. We spent all afternoon and evening putting together all of the Lego sets and making sure all of the pieces were there. And out of all of the sets we were only missing half a dozen pieces or so. With such young boys I will consider that a success!

I had my CPR certification today so my little 'kings' got to go with Gram and Bumpy to uncle Jon's wrestling match. Ethan kept saying "its not wrestling, its fighting!" LOL!

Today I was heartbroken to find out that one of my good childhood friends passed away last night. Needless to say I have been pretty numb and haven't gotten much more than what absolutely had to be done, done.

I came home after a very long school day today and found that I had received this in the mail! It's so stinking cute! It was a birthday gift from my best guy friend and was late thanks to USPS! Not thanks to him! LOL! I was exhausted after a lllllooooonnnnnggggg day at school but I forced myself to stay awake and put it together!

So I spent some time today cleaning my room (I spent more time on a heating pad than anything...don't ask! lol) trying to get ready for the new semester. School actually started on Friday but the crazy busyness starts on Monday and I wanted to get this done and out of the way. So I sorted through papers and filed them, and put the bottles of medicine and hair ties away clearing up the desk for studying. Who knew that's what it was for?!?

I'm not sure I'm really ready for this new semester, but I don't really have a choice. It's here I just have to deal with it and make the best of it.

Its no secret that Ethan as well as Seth suck their thumbs. I normally don't have an issue with it but they are starting to get older now and they need to start cutting back. So we spent the day with me reminding them it wasn't nap/bed time and they needed to take their thumbs out of their mouths, and them telling me they aren't quite big enough yet for that.

So today I had to run a bunch of little errands and of course the boys got drug along. While we were out we stopped at the local Rural King (we love that place!)

In early November my aunt asked what the boys needed (she gets them something they want and something they need every year) and at the time the answer was shoes. So she sent money for shoes thinking it would be easier for me to take them and get the right sizes and styles. Turns out they got shoes from someone else for Christmas. What to do with the money that was sent with shoes in mind?

Buy boots! The boys had been asking for 'fun' boots for a while and since we tend to get lots of rain where we live and we are outdoors kinda people that it was a great opportunity to get them.

It was another chance for their personalities to emerge as well as they all got to pick their own design. Isaac's are just plain yellow and black. Ethan chose camouflage. And Seth's are red fire trucks. Now if I could only get them to take them off!

Well the boys officially stayed up to usher in the new year! It was a first for all 3 of them! (Actually as I type this up they are all at various stages of falling asleep at almost 1 am!) We didn't do anything fancy this year. Just pizza, fun snacks and Chuck season 2 on DVD (about 6 episodes anyways.)

They particularly liked the actual "10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-Happy New Year!" countdown and continued to repeat it for a good 15 minutes or so. A quick photo session on the couch was quickly followed by bedtime orders.

Goodnight all! I'm exhausted!
